Levac launches Thank a Vet ticket sale
Tickets for Brantford's 12th annual Thank a Vet luncheon are now on sale.

Tickets for Brantford's 12th annual Thank a Vet luncheon officially went on sale as Brant MPP Dave Levac launched the program from his office on Friday afternoon.

Tickets are $25, and are available at Levac's office on Nelson street, and the Brant Credit Unions.

The luncheon takes place on November 7 at Assumption College, and the proceeds will be used to throw a free dinner/banquet for area veterans and their friends and family.

   While Mr Levac is thanking our vets,could he also work on reducing the taxes they are paying to remain in their homes. Last year MPACC sent out the property assessment for 2009 which showed an increase in the average home based on pre-recession values. Many of these values were already inflated and with the current economy even more so. In Brantford, even with the reduced tax increase based on the mill rate, the average property tax increase was more than 5 percent. In Provincial tax reductions the income of Seniors (A portion of which are veterans who we are thanking) increased less than this and with increased costs in medical and transportation areas, our vets are now being thanked for their service by being forced out of their homes.

   Mr. Levac has neither responded nor acted on complaints that surrounded Staff in Inspections at MOHLTC that were both pre-warning facilities of their pending inspections(this way they can clean it up first, then become instantly in compliance)and actually ratting out the complainants to the same facility. Those staff that got ratted out were then screwed by not only the employer but their respective governing bodies. Levac wants us to believe he cares about seniors their care, comfort. I'd believe Smitherman first.....lol

All these years as an MPP and hes done absolutely jack-shyte for this community, unless you include blue-skies and monorails. What has he got to show for this tenure? A bunch of inflated cheques, photos.

   im sick of this rat race,,taxes and goverment spending out of control.....never enuff for the taxman always looking and finding new ways to screw us out of our hard earned dollars....im done ..finished kuput! im going to prison just so i can eat three square meals a day and get a bonified education ...thats all folks my ship has come in and im here at the dock packed and ready ...bonvoyage !!!! suckers .

   Wow you guys could find the downside of a rainbow couldn't you? If given a dollar would you complain it wasn't two or just be upset because the government makes you carry around a Lonnie when you preferred the old bill form?
